Revellers were eager to see off 2023 in style and early, with thousands taking over St Kilda’s Sea Baths to see out the year.

Looking out over the bay, people headed to the rooftop to watch the waves, and were hitting the dance floor early.

Among the dancers were Dave “Tul” Tully, Simone van Zanen and Luke Anderson.

Others were eager to ring in their first New Year’s Eve down under, including Emma Tillmann and her friends Louisa Felsberg and Orlane Emonin.

Tillmann, from Germany, said they loved the location overlooking the water but she and her friends hadn’t decided where they would be when the clock struck midnight.

“We’ll see, there’s still time.”
