UP Police Constable Exam 2024: The Uttar Pradesh Police Constable Recruitment 2024 exam began on February 17, 2024 across 2,385 centres un 75 districts of the state. A total of 50 lakh students have registered for 60,422 constable posts. The UP Police Recruitment and Promotion Board will conduct the Police Constable recruitment examination on 17th and 18th February.
According to PTI, in last two days, over 120 people were caught in Uttar Pradesh for impersonating someone else during the police constable recruitment test and engaging in cheating.Prashant Kumar, the Director General of Police, stated that among the 122 arrested individuals, 15 were from Etah, nine from Mau, Prayagraj, and Siddharthanagar each, eight from Ghazipur, seven from Azamgarh, six from Gorakhpur, five from Jaunpur, four from Firozabad, three each from Kaushambi and Hathras, two each from Jhansi, Varanasi, Agra, and Kanpur, and one each from Ballia, Deoria, and Bijnor.
Amitabh Yash, who’s the Additional Director General of the STF, told PTI that the people who got arrested were using cheat sheets. Some got caught for pretending to be real candidates, while others were nabbed for tricking candidates. He mentioned that these arrests happened between February 15 and 17.
In Etah, 15 individuals were apprehended by a surveillance team from the Kotwali police station over suspicions of intending to cheat in an exam, as stated by Additional Superintendent of Police Dhananjay Kushwaha. They are currently under interrogation.
Meanwhile, in Ballia district of eastern Uttar Pradesh, there are reports of a man allegedly accepting money from candidates with the assurance of helping them pass the exam.
