Amanda Bynes Declined ‘Quiet On Set’ Interview Since She Didn’t Have A Bad Experience

Although many fans have wondered if Amanda Bynes was negatively impacted by the explosive allegations made against producer Dan Schneider in the documentary Quiet on Set: The Dark Side of Kids TV, it would appear that she simply wasn’t (at least not in the same way that the other stars were).

According to a source close to TMZ, Bynes declined to take an interview for the new Nickelodeon doc because she didn’t have a bad experience and felt she had nothing to add.

Furthermore, her parents Rick and Lynn felt the same way and declined their interviews as they are private people and wanted to stay out of the spotlight.

This is particularly interesting since the documentary called into question a scene on The Amanda Show where a then-teenage Bynes shared a jacuzzi with Schneider. All That producer Karyn Finley Thompson also told Us Weekly that she “saw Amanda being very close physically with Dan.”

While Bynes has not spoken out about that particular scene, she says she didn’t have anything to share that would further the documentary subjects’ cause.

The former child star—who has struggled with her conservatorship, mental health, and addiction in her adulthood—has not yet watched the documentary. Both of her parents have seen it, however, and say they are both “saddened and disgusted” by the allegations.

Bynes starred on The Amanda Show from 1999 to 2002 alongside Drake Bell, who revealed in the documentary that he was abused by dialogue coach Brian Peck (who was involved in the show).

These days, Bynes has been focusing on her passion for cosmetology, recently sporting a blonde wig with blue extensions. You can see her talk about the hairdo below.
