Are Jono and Ellie together? Latest on couple’s relationship after MAFS cheating saga

[

As Shakespeare noted the course of true love never did run smooth and this seems to have been the case for one couple in the Australian reality show Married At First Sight (MAFS).

Jonathan (Jono) McCullough and Ellie Dix were not expected to become an item.

In fact, they were both paired with other people in the 11th series.

But it appears the best-laid plans of the pairing and relationship experts may have gone somewhat awry.

We take a look at what’s happened to the 39-year-old health business owner and the 32-year-old nurse but it comes with a spoiler alert.

Are Jono and Ellie together?

Ellie was originally paired with tour guide Ben Walters on the series but this was definitely not a match made in heaven.

An during an Alignment of Values task revealed children were not a priority for Ben but were for Ellie.

And after a dinner party break-up, the couple voted to leave the experiment in week five.

Shortly after their departure, Ben is reported to have gone public on social media with a girlfriend outside the experiment.

Meanwhile, Jono was matched with Lauren Dunn on the show. They also had their ups and downs during the course of season 11.

On the honeymoon, Lauren complained her husband was “too nice” and during an intimacy week staring into each other’s eyes proved challenging.

Jono came in for criticism when he chose not to defend his wife over a “muzzle your woman” comment.

But the biggest issue was when it emerged Jono had been secretly messaging Ellie.

After the discovery Lauren said: “You reached out to her.

“These aren’t just relaying information that happened the night before, this is more than that.

“My stomach dropped.”

Jono admitted to the messages but said he didn’t think it was an issue.

When it came to their final vow renewal, the writing seemed to be on the wall.

Jono insisted on wearing black as he felt the event was more like a funeral and said he would have had an “easier” time on the show if he was matched with someone else.

All became clear at the reunion show later when Jono and Ellie turned up hand in hand, very much an item.

Lauren was less than pleased and there was a heated exchange but it seems all is fair in love and war and Lauren has since given the couple her blessing.

She told Daily Mail Australia “I could not be happier for Jono. Me and him were forced to be together, we didn’t choose each other, and we gave it our absolute all.”

In the meantime, Jono and Ellie have been sharing their journey on social media with a trip to the island of Vanuatu for Ellie’s birthday and reports they may even have moved in together.
