Today’s Tuesday, and for fans of Will Trent, that typically means an exciting new episode is in store.
Starring Ramón Rodríguez in the title role of Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI) Special Agent Will Trent, the ABC series is inspired by Karin Slaughter’s book series. Trent, who was abandoned at birth and grew up in foster care, channels his experiences into his work.
Season 2 kicked off on Feb. 20, and also stars Sonja Sohn, Erika Christensen, Iantha Richardson and Jake McLaughlin.
Decider contributor Joel Keller praised the latest installment in his Will Trent Season 2 review, noting that the series “continues to entertain with characters that have really deep backstories and cases that are good enough to follow, even if they take a backseat to all of the character arcs.”
For those who didn’t catch last week’s episode, “We Are Family,” you can stream it on Hulu, along with all previously aired Season 2 episodes and the complete Season 1.

Is Will Trent new tonight?
Unfortunately, no. Tonight’s episode is a re-run. “You Don’t Have to Understand,” which originally aired on March 5, will air again tonight at 8/7c, per a network press release. The logline reads: “With several civilians dead and one woman missing, Will and Faith (Richardson) question a suspicious pastor ahead of the councilman’s ribbon-cutting ceremony. Meanwhile, Angie (Christensen) joins Ormewood (McLaughlin) back in the field to investigate a sauna murder.”
When will Will Trent return to ABC with new episodes?
The series won’t return with new episodes for two weeks. The next new episode, titled “Have You Never Been To A Wedding?,” will air on Tuesday, April 30.
According to ABC, the upcoming installment will follow Will as he “accompanies Faith to a wedding alongside her son Jeremy, which becomes far from celebratory when a body and a group of gunmen are found in the venue’s basement. Meanwhile, Angie and Ormewood grow wary of Crystal’s behavior at work.”
