Report: Auburn football to add game vs. Mercer to finalize 2025 slate

[

Eight days after Auburn’s slate of SEC opponents was unveiled, the Tigers’ 2025 football schedule is reportedly nearing finalization.

Auburn and Mercer have agreed to meet at Jordan-Hare Stadium on Nov. 22, 2025, FBSchedules.com reported Thursday morning. The 2025 meeting will make for the two programs’ 14th since the 1896 season.

The Tigers and Bears last met in 2022 in a lightning-delayed game Auburn won 42-16 as Auburn running back Jarquez Hunter, then a sophomore, punched in three touchdowns.

Auburn currently holds a perfect, 13-0 record against Mercer.

Per FBSchedules.com’s report, Auburn will pay Mercer $475,000 for the matchup, which will finalize Auburn’s 2025 non-conference schedule.

In summary, Auburn’s home non-conference opponents will feature Ball State on Sept. 9, South Alabama on Sept. 13 and Mercer on Nov. 22.

Meanwhile, in league play, the SEC announced March 20 that teams will play the same opponents as 2024 except the matchups’ locations will be flipped. For Auburn, that means:

  • Alabama — HOME
  • Arkansas — AWAY
  • Georgia — HOME
  • Kentucky — HOME
  • Missouri — HOME
  • Oklahoma — AWAY
  • Texas A&M — AWAY
  • Vanderbilt — AWAY

Dates and times of Auburn’s SEC games will be released at a later date.
