Shahid Kapoor and Kriti Sanon will be sharing screen space for the first time in ‘Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya‘. While fans are absolutely in love with the trailer and the first few songs which have released, many people thought that the film’s title is quite long. It’s also quite a unique one for a film. In an interview recently, Shahid has reacted to this long title and had some fair share of justification for it.
During a chat with Film Companion, Shahid and Kriti opened up on the film’s title.Shahid said that it’s always seen that love stories usually have a longer title. For instance, ‘Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge‘. Shahid added that ‘Dilwale Dulhania…’ was used as a title for a film when there were titles like ‘Ghatak’, ‘Ghayal’, ‘Jeet’, that was the vibe. And then this long title came which left people wondering. He added that for a love story, it’s okay to have a longer title. For love stories which came even last year had longer titles. Kriti echoed Shahid’s sentiment and added that even last year, there was ‘Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani’ which was a long title.
Shahid further gave the example of ‘Jab We Met‘. He revealed that at that time there was no trend of having a Hindi English title together. It seemed off and anything that is out of the regular feels odd. At that time, it was a contemporary love story which had Hindi and English. So, people questioned ‘Jab We Met’ as a title at that time but now it’s a classic.
Coming back to ‘Teri Baaton Mein…’, Shahid said that it suited the film apt because it’s a love story and he’s ‘stuck’ with her despite knowing that she’s a robot. The actors added that just this song and this line, suited the whole vibe of the film and they constantly had that in mind from the very first shot. The makers have also now unveiled the film’s title track which is getting a great response from netizens.
This film is set to release on February 9.
