A documentary detailing the sexual assault allegations against Kevin Spacey is set to release on Max soon.
Spacey Unmasked is a two-part documentary series from England’s Channel 4 which “investigates Spacey’s conduct and talks to multiple men unconnected to [last year’s] case about their experiences with Kevin Spacey, almost all of whom have never spoken before,” per Deadline.
The documentary will chronicle Spacey’s rise and fall as one of the biggest actors in Hollywood with the help of never-before-seen interviews and archival footage from the actor’s life. It was directed and produced by Katherine Haywood, who also worked on the 2022 documentary Who Is Ghislaine Maxwell?
Deadline reports that the documentary was picked up by Max and ID as part of a deal between Warner Bros. Discovery and All3 Media International.
Spacey Unmasked will air on Monday, May 6, and Tuesday, May 7.
This documentary comes just under a year after the two-time Oscar winner was cleared of all charges in London. He was facing nine charges, including sexual assault, relating to incidents that occurred between 2001 and 2013 to four men. He was also cleared of battery in a case filed by actor Anthony Rapp.
Amid the trial, Spacey was ordered to pay $31 million to the House of Cards creators for profits lost due to his firing, which a judge recently lowered to $1 million.
Prior to receiving the verdict, Spacey had told ZEITmagazin, “There are people right now who are ready to hire me the moment I am cleared of these charges in London. The second that happens, they’re ready to move forward.”
The actor has indeed continued working since the allegations were first raised against him.
His first role since the trial began was in the recently released thriller, Peter Five Eight. He also voiced a role in the 2023 film Control.
