Stellar Blade has already patched out a controversial phrase and it won’t be in the final release

STELLAR Blade is Sony’s next big exclusive for PlayStation players and reviews recently went live.

The game seems destined to be a hit with a huge 82 rating on review aggregate site Metacritic.

People loved the fast-paced and fluid combat in the PlayStation exclusive, but were less warm on the boring characters and story.

However, some reviewers that played it for review noticed some questionable graffiti in the world.

Screenshots began floating around of a graffiti sign which says ‘hard’ which isn’t the problem in itself.

However, the graffiti is placed near a sign for the ‘R Shop’ so reading across it looks like ‘hard r’.

This is a phrase that can be used to describe a racial slur, something that Sony described as “unintentional”.

Speaking to IGN, Sony said: “The placement of two graphics near each other in Stellar Blade resulted in an unintentional objectionable phrase.

“Shift Up had no intention of creating offensive artwork and will be replacing the graffiti for the Day 1 patch.”

In fact, Sony acted even faster than this, and those who already have the game have already noticed the changes.

The ‘hard’ graffiti has since been replaced with another graffiti which clearly has no relation to the ‘R’ in ‘R shop’.

By the time that Stellar Blade hits the shelves on Friday, April 26, 2024, the phrase will no longer be seen.

It appears that this imagery occurred completely by accident, and it should be noted that the studio Shift Up is South Korean and is less likely to be aware of the meaning of this phrase.
