NEW DELHI: The Uttar Pradesh government has taken a decisive step towards maintaining the integrity and transparency of recruitment exams by cancelling the Review Officer (RO) and Assistant Review Officer (ARO) Recruitment Preliminary Examination 2024.
This move comes in response to concerns over the purity of the examination process, with the entire matter now under investigation by the Special Task Force (STF).
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, prioritizing the interests of the youth, has mandated a re-conduction of the preliminary examination within six months. Additionally, strict actions are to be taken against those found culpable.
The decision to cancel the Review Officer/Assistant Review Officer (Preliminary) Examination, 2023, conducted on February 11, 2024, underscores the government’s commitment to maintaining exam integrity.
The chief minister, acting on evidence and the Commission’s report, has ordered the cancellation and subsequent re-examination. Furthermore, the investigation has been entrusted to the STF to identify and prosecute individuals involved in criminal activities related to the exam leak.
Meanwhile, students advocating for fairness in exams have continued their protests, demanding the cancellation of the RO/ARO examination. They hold placards and voice their calls for a re-examination.
This cancellation follows a similar move by the Yogi government in cancelling the UP Police Constable Recruitment Examination due to paper leaks.
The administration has assured a re-conduct of the examination within six months, leaving awaiting candidates eager for official confirmation of new exam dates.
