We got our first look at the upcoming F1 game and the focus is on intense realism

WE were invited to try out F1 24 at the game reveal event to experience the new features that are coming this year.

There was a focus on the brand-new Career mode, as well as the changes to tracks for the 2024 season.

One of the most significant updates is the Dynamic Handling, which hopes to add a deeper, more realistic feeling to the driving.

The team has introduced what they call ‘suspension kinematics’ so you can feel the weight of the car as it shifts.

There’s a lot of focus on the realism, right down to the wear and temperature of the tires as you drive.

The preview also showed us a push towards putting more emphasis on the player’s control over the care.

There are more customisation options, and you’ll want to do a lot of tinkering until you find the car that’s right for you.

It allows you more fine tuning when it comes to different parts of your car, which can add up to major changes when driving.

There will also be differences between the different drivers you use, and how each person takes the wheel.

This extends to the teams you are part of. Williams might be outstanding on low downforce circuits, whereas Ferrari drives best at high speeds.

Thanks to how engine braking has been incorporated into the power unit, the way the car controls when you are not accelerating has been changed.

In reality this boils down to a lot of jargon, and we won’t know if these changes are the real deal until we get our hands on a preview build in the coming weeks.
