When is The Traitors next on? Full release schedule and when it goes on iPlayer

The Traitors is back with a hefty dose of treachery to light up the dark January nights.

Hosted by Claudia Winkleman, the BBC reality TV show sees 22 strangers competing to win a jackpot of £120,000 in a game of trust and betrayal.

Three of the contestants are secretly selected by Winkleman to become the Traitors, while the rest are named Faithfuls.

The Traitors’ task is to kill off the Faithful without being rumbled.

Contestants must take part in a series of physical and mental challenges in the wilds of the Scottish Highlands, before participating in a tense nightly round-table that sees one competitor leaving the competition.

In this game, having a solid poker face could mean leaving with the jackpot or going home empty-handed.

The next episode of The Traitors airs at 9pm on BBC1 on Thursday 11 January.

What is The Traitors release schedule?

The Traitors launched on Wednesday 3 January, with episodes two and three available immediately on BBC iPlayer after the first broadcast.

The remaining episodes are set to air on successive Wednesday, Thursday and Friday nights at 9pm on BBC1, with each episode available to view on iPlayer after broadcast.

Unlike the first week, which dropped episodes early on iPlayer to pique viewer interest, this will not happen with future episodes, meaning fans will have to be patient and await the official drop each evening.

Will there be a third series of The Traitors?

Yes. In November 2023, ahead of series 2, the BBC confirmed it would return for a third series.

Kalpna Patel-Knight, head of entertainment at the BBC, said: “The massive unscripted hit The Traitors will be back for a third series. Expect to see more psychological gameplay, exciting challenges and of course Claudia at the helm.

“It will be a thrilling ride for both avid fans and newcomers to the series for sure. The BBC will always remain faithful to The Traitors.”

Stephen Lambert, CEO of Studio Lambert, said: “The Traitors has been so warmly received by viewers, critics and award juries alike.

“Claudia and the team look forward to keeping audiences on the edge of their seats again with ever more thrilling missions and exceptional players competing in this gripping game of bluff and skill.”
